Cantiknya Bunga Bakawali

Siapa pernah tengok Bunga Bakawali kembang? Bunga bakawali adalah bunga yang istimewa, yang mana ia cuma kembang pada tengah malam sahaja. Bermula dari jam 9 malam dan  ia akan kembang penuh pada 12 malam dan kuncup semula selepas itu dan terus layu. Maka kembangnya cuma semalam sahaja.
Pokok bunga bakawali ini di kenali juga dengan nama saintifik nya Epiphyllum anguliger. Nama lain bagi bunga ini juga ialah ric rac cactus, moon cactus dan queen of the night. Rupa bentuk pokok memang seakan-akan pokok kaktus dengan daun yang panjang. Semasa bunga kembang harumannya sangat wangi dan menyegarkan.
Orang-orang tua berkata, bunga ni susah nak dijaga kerana ia dikatakan seolah-olah memilih tuan. Dikatakan jika pemiliknya rajin bersolat sahaja yang boleh menanam bunga ini. Jika tidak ia tidak hidup ataupun mungkin tidak berbunga.
Bunga Bakawali dirumah mak saya ni, agak rajin berbunga. Dan pada masa saya melihat bunga ini kembang, kira-kira ada 5 kuntum. Itupun masih adalagi yang akan kembang untuk malam berikutnya dan ada yang telah layu kerana kembang pada malam sebelumnya.
Bagi sahabat-sahabat yang belum pernah melihat bunga ini, saya kongsikannya dengan anda semua....

Ada cerita tentang bunga ini, pada suatu hari ada seseorang cuba mengikat kudup bunga yang dijangka kembang pada malam itu. Bila jam 12 malam, kudup bunga yang sepatutnya kembang tidak dapat kembang malah kedengaran suara tangisan bayi. Bila didengar, suara itu daang dari kudup bunga yang diikat. Apabila ikatan dibuka, tangisan tadi tiba-tiba hilang.
Orang-orang tua ada bercerita bahawa bunga ini disukai oleh pari-pari (makhluk halus). Kembangnya dinanti dan mereka akan berada sekitar pokok ini menanti bunga ini kembang. tidak hairanlah sekiranya bunga ini sememangnya ada unsur-unsur mistik kerana harum baunya dan kembang pada tengah malam sahaja.
Terpulang pada kita untuk menerimanya. Tapi pada saya keistimewaan bunga ini terletak pada keindahan dan harum baunya. Saya masih lagi nak melihat bunga ini kembang kerana saya sangat suka harum baunya.......
